Complaints Policy
The Eurasian Clinical and Analytical Medicine (ECAM) journal is committed to maintaining ethical publishing practices and editorial transparency. All complaints and appeals are handled with seriousness, confidentiality, and fairness, in line with the principles of COPE, ICMJE, WAME, and the DOAJ Best Practice Guidelines.
Types of Concerns Addressed
ECAM accepts complaints related to peer review, editorial decisions, ethical issues (e.g., plagiarism, data manipulation, authorship disputes), process delays, or inappropriate behavior during editorial interactions.
How to Submit a Complaint
Complaints should be submitted in writing via email to info@eurasianmed.com. Please include the manuscript ID (if applicable), a clear description of the issue, and any relevant supporting documents. Submissions will be acknowledged within 10 business days.
Complaint Review Process
All complaints are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief or an uninvolved senior editor. The process is conducted with confidentiality and impartiality. Complainants are informed of progress if further review is needed.
Appeals Procedure
Authors may appeal editorial decisions based on claims of bias, factual error, procedural flaws, or ethical concerns. Appeals must be submitted within 30 days of the decision and include the manuscript ID, justification, and supporting evidence. Confirmation of receipt will be provided within 72 hours.
Appeal Evaluation and Outcome
Appeals are reviewed within 2–4 weeks by a panel consisting of the Editor-in-Chief and at least one uninvolved editorial board member. If ethical violations are suspected, an internal ethics review may be initiated. Final decisions are communicated in writing and are considered binding. One appeal per manuscript is allowed.
Referral to COPE
If an issue remains unresolved internally, and ECAM is a COPE member, the complainant may seek advisory guidance from COPE. While COPE does not arbitrate cases, it may provide non-binding recommendations.
Confidentiality and Conflicts of Interest
All complaints and appeals are treated with confidentiality. Individuals involved in the evaluation must declare any potential conflicts of interest to ensure unbiased decision-making.
Internal Tracking and Policy Transparency
ECAM maintains internal records of complaints and appeals for editorial quality improvement. This policy is permanently accessible on the journal’s website under the “Complaints Policy” section to ensure transparency and accountability.
This policy ensures the protection of author rights while preserving the ethical and scientific integrity of the publication process.
